Surfed at Newquay Towan beach

I am borrowing a friends winter wetsuit, which proved hard to paddle in, but very protective.  I bought a thermal rash vest and boots.  Getting in is not hard, it doesn't feel so cold.  Even getting your head wet is ok.

I had a great surf today.  Its been stormy for a while, and Fistral and the other exposed beaches are big (6ft) but really messy.  Towan beach is sheltered on the right side for todays winds.

Towan beach was crowded.  The waves where dumping, and I got hit a couple of times.  It was a great surf though.  I know where to park and how to get to Towan quickly.

The worst part was getting out of the wetsuit.  Once the warm layers are seperated from your skin it gets cold realy quickly.  I am seriously thinking of selling my car and buying a van.  Then I will have a mobile room to get changed in.  It will also make carrying the surfboard a lot easier.  I think I will be surfing a while longer whilst the tempratures drop.
